About the tides at Long Branch Reach

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Long Branch Reach, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock. The average range is about 2.6 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most New Jersey stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.0 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 3.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.3 ft.
