About the tides at Long Neck Point

Long Neck Point has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. With a mean range of about 7.2 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.7 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 8.7 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 6.4 ft, on Saturday.

Predictions for Long Neck Point come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1990 to 1995 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Rowayton, 3 mi away. For tidal currents, see Long Neck Point, 0.6 mile south of.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
