About the tides at Manatee Creek

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Manatee Bay, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Government Cut, Miami Harbor Entrance. Water here rises and falls only about 0.3 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.5 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 0.1 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 0.6 ft on September 29 and bottom out at −0.3 ft on January 23.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Government Cut, Miami Harbor Entrance, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Main Key, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 10 min earlier.
