About the tides at Largo Sound
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.0 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. The mean range is small, about 0.7 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 26, with a range of 1.1 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.2 ft on September 29, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on January 23.
Largo Sound is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Miami Beach, Government Cut: highs come about 133 min and lows about 183 min later than there. The nearest other station is Garden Cove, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 2 h 14 m earlier.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
