About the tides at Martha's Vineyard GPS Buoy

Martha's Vineyard GPS Buoy has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.1 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 3.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.6 ft.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2015 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Edgartown, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 4 h 35 m later. For tidal currents, see Cape Poge Light, 1.4 miles west of.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
