About the tides at Menefee Anch.
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Menefee, anchorage, moira Snd Ent, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Ketchikan, Tongass Narrows. The tide range here is very large, about 11.7 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 20.2 ft. Neap tides follow tomorrow, when the range shrinks to 5.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 17.9 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.9 ft on July 5.
Menefee Anch. is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Ketchikan, Tongass Narrows: highs come about 2 min earlier and lows about 1 min later than there. The nearest other station is Ingraham Bay, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min later. For tidal currents, see Moira Sound entrance.
Predictions are based on Ketchikan, Tongass Narrows.
