About the tides at Morse Cove

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Duke Island, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Ketchikan, Tongass Narrows. The tide range here is very large, about 11.9 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 18.3 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −4.2 ft on July 5.

Morse Cove is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Ketchikan, Tongass Narrows: highs come about 3 min and lows about 15 min later than there.
