About the tides at Nantucket

Nantucket has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 3.0 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.6 ft.
