About the tides at Nantucket
Nantucket has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 3.0 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.6 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.6 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 2.5 ft, tomorrow. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.4 ft on November 26 and bottom out at −0.6 ft on January 23.
