About the tides at Natalia Point
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.3 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Sitka, Baronof Island, Sitka Sound. The tide range here is very large, about 10.4 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 14.7 ft. Neap tides follow on October 17, when the range shrinks to 5.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 15.5 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.1 ft on July 5.
Natalia Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Sitka, Baronof Island, Sitka Sound: highs come about 5 min earlier and lows about 1 min later than there. The nearest other station is Block Island, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 12 min later. For tidal currents, see Halibut Nose.
Predictions are based on Sitka, Baronof Island, Sitka Sound.
