About the tides at North Haven
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at North Haven, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay. The range is large, about 9.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 12.0 ft on August 4, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on January 23.
North Haven is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay: highs come about 13 min and lows about 10 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1985 to 1994 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Pulpit Harbor, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Fox Island Thorofare.
Predictions are based on Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay.
