About the tides at Vinalhaven

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Penobscot Bay, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay. With a mean range of about 8.7 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 11.5 ft on August 4 and bottom out at −1.7 ft on January 23.
