About the tides at Port William
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The tide range here is very large, about 11.4 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 13.9 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 20.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 6.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 17.7 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −4.1 ft on July 5.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today.
