About the tides at Carry Inlet

Carry Inlet has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at SELDOVIA, Kachemak Bay. Carry Inlet sees a mean range of about 11.2 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 17.1 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 9.2 ft, on Sunday.
