About the tides at Richmond Plantation
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at E. Br. Cooper River, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. The average range is about 2.7 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.1 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 3.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.7 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −2.0 ft on January 23.
