About the tides at Stone Island

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.6 ft. The tide range here is very large, about 12.0 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Maine stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 14.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 10.8 ft.
