About the tides at The Brothers
The Brothers has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The Brothers sees a mean range of about 12.3 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 18.4 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 5.5 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 18.3 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −4.1 ft on July 5.
