About the tides at The Summit

The Summit has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The Summit sees a mean range of about 12.7 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 15.2 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 18.3 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 10.3 ft, on Friday.
