About the tides at Trinidad Harbor
Trinidad Harbor has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Crescent City. On a typical day the water moves about 4.8 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.7 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 7.8 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 2.8 ft, on Saturday.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Crescent City, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1972 to 1987 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Mad River Slough, 13 mi away, where high tide comes about 58 min later.
Predictions are based on Crescent City.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
