About the tides at Yale boathouse
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.6 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The average range is about 2.7 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 3.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 2.6 ft.
Yale boathouse is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting NEW LONDON, State Pier: highs come about 14 min and lows about 10 min later than there.
