About the tides at Aguchik Island

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.6 ft. The tide range here is very large, about 11.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 13.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 19.7 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 7.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 17.2 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.8 ft on July 5.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2000 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Kukak, 7 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Kukak Bay, Shelikof Strait.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
