About the tides at Nukshak Island

Nukshak Island has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Nukshak Island sees a mean range of about 11.4 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 13.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 17.4 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 8.8 ft, on October 15. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 17.1 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −3.7 ft on July 5.
