About the tides at Bellingham
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Townsend, Admiralty Inlet. The range is large, about 5.4 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 8.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 11.3 ft. Neap tides follow on October 26, when the range shrinks to 3.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 9.9 ft on December 26, and the lowest is −3.4 ft on July 4.
