About the tides at Gooseberry Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.5 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Townsend, Admiralty Inlet. With a mean range of about 5.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 9.5 ft, comes on Wednesday, and the smallest, 4.3 ft, tomorrow. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.4 ft on December 26 and bottom out at −3.5 ft on July 4.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Townsend, Admiralty Inlet, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
