About the tides at Dinner Key Marina
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Dinner Key Marina, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Government Cut, Miami Harbor Entrance. Water here rises and falls only about 1.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.6 ft, comes on Saturday, and the smallest, 1.2 ft, on October 18. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.8 ft on September 29 and bottom out at −0.7 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Government Cut, Miami Harbor Entrance, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1967 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Key Biscayne Yacht Club, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 10 min earlier.
