About the tides at Key Biscayne Yacht Club
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.1 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. Water here rises and falls only about 2.0 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.9 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 1.2 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.9 ft on September 29 and bottom out at −0.7 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1980 to 1993 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Virginia Key, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Lummus Island, SW corner.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
