About the tides at Eliza Harbor

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.5 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass. The tide range here is very large, about 11.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 17.3 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −4.1 ft on July 5.

Eliza Harbor is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass: highs come about 6 min and lows about 4 min earlier than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1996 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Herring Bay, 6 mi away.

Predictions are based on Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass.
