About the tides at Nordyke Island

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.5 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Seldovia, Cook Inlet. The tide range here is very large, about 12.2 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 23.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 5.0 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 19.6 ft on January 23, and the lowest is −5.6 ft on July 5.

Nordyke Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Seldovia, Cook Inlet: highs come about 10 min and lows about 22 min later than there. The nearest other station is Southwest Iniskin Bay, 39 mi away.
