About the tides at Sturgeon Island
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.5 ft. The range is large, about 5.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is smaller than most Maine stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 6.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 5.4 ft.
