About the tides at Cedar Tree Neck

Cedar Tree Neck has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The average range is about 2.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 2.8 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.0 ft.

Cedar Tree Neck is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport: highs come about 10 min and lows about 92 min later than there. The nearest other station is Vineyard Haven, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 3 h 15 m later. For tidal currents, see Norton Point, 0.5 mile north of.

Predictions are based on Newport.
