About the tides at Port Protection

Port Protection has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Sitka. With a mean range of about 10.0 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Sitka, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
