About the tides at Sakie Bay
Sakie Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Sitka. With a mean range of about 7.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 12.2 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 3.2 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 12.9 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −3.2 ft on July 5.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Sitka, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Sea Otter Harbor, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Diver Islands.
Predictions are based on Sitka.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
