About the tides at Uncatena Island (south side)

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Uncatena Island (south side), each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. On a typical day the water moves about 3.4 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.6 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 3.3 ft, on Sunday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Newport, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Oceanographic Institution, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 17 min later. For tidal currents, see North end.

Predictions are based on Newport.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
